Welcome to IMC London!
Please, do read our Editorial Guidelines and Mission Statement to find out about the Indymedia Project, and refer to our welcome feature and the Introduction of our shiny new site for questions about the new site.
If you want to get involved or find bugs or have some feedback, send an email to the IMC-London list, on the project site or by posting a comment or come to one of our meetings.
We meet every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month, at the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank. You can usually find us on the Mezzanine in the green area, but you might want to drop us an email (to the public list or private contact list), to make sure we don’t miss each other. The place is pretty big and there’s lots of people there. Check the Imc London group for the next upcoming meeting.
To know more about why we’re using a new code that is still in developement, read about Indymedia and the Enclosure of the Internet. And for an historical overview of the project read this interview and listen to this radio show with IMC-London volunteers.
If you would like us to come and do a talk or workshop on the features of the new site or Indmedia in general, also email the IMC-London list.
Please do not send any press releases to any of our email lists. They will not be let through by the moderators and just cause more work. Indymedia is a open posting platform, we won’t publish content from emails send to us, so don’t be scared an hit the publish button! If you want to announce an event, publish and event. If you’re reporting about an action, publish an article.
For editorial concerns, email the imc-london-moderation list, or go to the post you are concerned about and click the “report this article” button. This will send an email to the list, quoting your username if you are logged in. Remember that we won’t be able to respond to you directly if you do this.
All email lists are publicly archived. If you want to contact us more privately, use our privately archived contact list.
While Indymedia relies on volunteer work and we try to not spend any money if we don’t have to, there are running costs such as hosting for our servers, bandwidth etc. If you like Indymedia, please consider donating. And rather than a big sum once in a while, a standing order of a couple of quid each month will help us plan and make sure we keep on going, no matter how many servers are seized.
Thanks
IMC London
