Why anarchist feminism?
In the collective we practice consensus-based decisions, which means not “majority wins” or a perfect idea must be found first for all to perfectly agree with – but instead we aim for reaching a shared agreeability to try, unless something is strongly opposed. If there is a strong disagreement we decide together to make significant changes, pause, or split who is involved. We are always free to associate, to be heard, to agree, disagree, and voice our perspectives, make mistakes, learn, change our mind, be persuaded, withdraw our point or from having it at all. Respect, solidarity and good faith are key.
We take heed of the Anarchafeminist Manifesto (1983) too, with focus not just on women but all those experiencing patriarchal misogyny and our shared matters:
_"An essential point in anarcha-feminism is that the changes must begin today, not tomorrow or after the revolution. The revolution shall be permanent. We must start today by seeing through the oppression in the daily life and do something to break the pattern here and now.
We must act autonomously, without delegating to any leaders the right to decide what we wish and what we shall do: we must make decisions all by ourselves in personal matters, together with other women in pure female matters, and together with the male fellows in common matters."_
