1. *We* admitted we were oppressed.
  2. Came to believe that we could live with autonomy.
  3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives away from the care of the oppressors.
  4. Made a moral inventory of the systems of control.
  5. Admitted the exact nature of their wrongs.
  6. Were entirely ready to be free of these systems.
  7. Began transforming our local communities.
  8. Made a list of all persons being harmed, and became willing to stop this from happening.
  9. Stopped the harm to such people except when to do so would injure them or others more gravely.
  10. Continued to observe the systems of control and our effect on our local communities.
  11. Sought through imaginative activities to improve our connection to our passion and power.
  12. Tried to carry this message to others and to practice these principles in all our affairs.
