Welcome to Crabgrass

Crabgrass is a software libre web application designed for social networking, group collaboration and network organizing. Our goal is to create communication tools that are tailored specifically to meet the needs of bottom up grassroots organizing. The internet may herald a deep change in democratic communication, but the internet is simultaneously the most effective tool for mass surveillance ever devised. Crabgrass is a secure alternative to for-profit social networking and organizing platforms.

Hot fix 0.5.2.1 available now

This release is a hot fix release on top of our stable 0.5.2 release. It fixes a couple important bugs, but otherwise carries with it no major changes. You can pick it up over at the Download area

Crabgrass 0.5.2 released!

This 1.5 month development cycle has seen the crabgrass crew hard at work strengthening the core of crabgrass and planning for future improvements. We are happy to introduce the social activity drop down in the global navigation. A user can now click on this from anywhere in the site and see their latest social activity. We have enhanced crabgrass groupware by giving coordinators the ability to remove people from groups, and by creating the ability to limit the view of group home wikis. User testing as well as better organization of our feedback forums helped to direct development. We have also enhanced the ability for siteadmins to create custom appearances for a site, for example changing header style, or color. Also a ton of bugs were fixed, the full list of changes is detailed in the changelog!

Enter Crabgrass 0.5.1.1!

Its been a month since the mega release of 0.5.0. We have been inwardly focused to make sure that crabgrass is an open and inviting project, that our development systems are clear and accessible, and that the foundations of the code are sound and primed for expansion. We have also moved happily back into agile development and have put together another small release. 0.5.1.1 is ready.
