1-Practice

Hey folks, the practice contributed and adopted by the community here, is not about only the philosophical guidelines which we are aware about to implement it in pragmatic ways. We have to measure the collaboratively defined work flows to accomplish or implement a particular idea that requires the geographical information systems tools & data.

Practice = Philosophy + Workflow + Tools:

In general GIS community follows a pretty much common pattern of work flow to create projects and products which are widely used by researchers, students, engineers, and commons. Although there will not be any hard and fast rules (fortunately) or procedures followed by the community and varies diversely depending upon the application, temporal necessity from the users, feasibility in technology, etc.

Understanding the Practical system of GIS:

Before diving deep into the GIS, and thinking possible applications based on its transdiscipline information density and power, it is so much interesting to learn about how the systems involved with GIS works in general. This will be an overall introduction of how the system works.

Understanding the perspectives of Data:

The data acquired through any one of the remote sensing technology, has different perspectives associated with it. Usually we humans are influenced by the vision/spatial perspective and words equally.

The perspectives are:

  • Spatial
  • Spectral
  • Temporal
