The fallout from Musharraf’s declaration of martial law on November 3rd has led to an unprecedented level of interest and concern from legal associations around the world. The Law and Policy Department is establishing the Rule of Law Project to be a clearinghouse of research and reporting focused on the independence of the judiciary and respect for the rule of law. The Project will coordinate and mobilize research by faculty and students regarding the rule of law in partnership with legal associations and civil society groups from within Pakistan and abroad.
