Notes from the RTF-Camp 2013
Local Groups
within the „State of Spain“:
- there exist different networks
- focusses: Food Souvereignity, GMOs, rural activism
- Local group tries to make bridges.
Aim: do it more and better
Last year there was a lot of effort to have more people/groups involved in the constellation (f.e. Can Piella). The Constellation has grown already, bulletins are distributed more and more.
France:
- the fourth francophone meeting is being organized
- there are a lot of people, that are not on the camp but feel involved in ther RTF-Constellation.
Aim: Connection with people of ??- They want to have more specific information (for example EU-policy) There is no agreement on the goal of meetings (they are mainly used to organize and get people involved)- there are problems about this topic in every meeting. The last meeting strenghtened the existing farmers-network.
Bretagne: Try to rearrange the group that was existing before- there is a meeting to come in October. Very important is to find a form to implicate farmers that are getting started and also to re-involve people that dropped out (also non-mobile activists)
Belgium:
- not any local RTF-group now
- people drop out
- local exchange works via mailing lists, there exist not really active working groups
- not connected very well with producers
- Place is ideal/easy for Europe-wide mobilization (for example in Bruxelles is the European Coordination for Via Campesina)
Aim: connecting local groups through RTF
Austria:
- group is young
- formed the first time two years ago, in Rosia Montana
- not very strong anymore in the last year; people/projects of the constellation were doing their own things
Aim: make links between the different stars stronger
German-Speaking:
- formed on the RTF-Camp (20-30 people at the meeting)
- Plan to meet in spring or late winter
Romania:
- situation similar to Spain
- there are networks with a strong affinity
- attempts to link these networks
Realistic idea for the next years- Local romanian RTF-Group
Great Britain:
- There was no answer from the group after inviting them to the camp; homepage is updated very unfrequently.
- some participated at the cycling tour but could not come to the camp
- some actions with RTF-label; more and more just isolated people- still they want to grow
Decision: Cycling tour from the north of France to Great Britain around Easter 2014 to meet peasants and projects and to help people to organize within RTF.
Finances
We need the money for:
1.) travel costs (meeting, camps, planning of meetin and camps)
2.) printing costs for the bulletin
3.) actions on European meetings
A group that deals with the finances on an European level has been formed.
