Can see them now…
JD – I appreciate the work on the grey bits but I think it’s diplomatically problematic to differentiate IMCs in this way.
Surely if you’re outside a “city” but in its region you’ll just use your nearest IMC, on a “regional” basis. So functionally there is no distinction.
I know Scotland and Northern don’t really have a single home city – and I think it’s useful in some way to ackowledge that. And I think name changes (didn’t Nottingham become Nottinghamshire at one stage?) are useful for trying to get the inclusiveness thing happening…and I can see that the the grey area is an attempt at the same out-reachy kind of thing.
But I think at this time it isn’t going to be helpful to illustrate this concept in that particular way…
As long as the map is this kind of size the ((i)) does not need to sit above a particular city…just, um, in the region somewhere?
(Also, as far as Northern goes, we haven’t really done any outreach in the farthest North West so I’d hesitate to have the greyness reach quite that far)
