weird, there is something off about the attachment links. i will investigate.

yeah, in the list above, some of them are highlighted and you can just click there (without clicking on the attachment) and that takes you to the document – which is great but it doesn’t allow for all.

maybe you were looking at the fact that some of the attachments thumbnail look like the actual documents but 4 of them do not. when i place the cursor in the empty box before hitting the Browse key, it doesn’t happen, so i’ll redo those.

open office is appears to be finicky. sometimes it just fails to generate a thumbnail, but if asked to for the same file, it might correctly do it the next time. I don’t think it is a matter of too many requests all at once, although that might be it.

storing assets like this seems like a pain. i guess i should implement an asset ‘folder’ if you want to store a bunch of assets grouped together. basically, a folder will be just pretty similar to a gallery, but will hold any type of assets instead of just images.

technically, a gallery can do this, since the gallery doesn’t really know that the assets it is holding are assets. I think the only code difference would be the UI.

lestery: i created the link in the wiki that brings you to the asset to provide an example. this isnt an automated function – but its easy to code, just mimic whats whats there.

I guess the attachment link is still nonfunctional.

ok, fixed. I have made the escaping of asset urls better, and also now we don’t try to clean up the filenames to create pretty urls: the filenames are just used as is, and any characters that need to be are escaped in the ugly %20 way.
