purpose¶

Providing an open standard for personal public profile with private dashboard. From private dashboard person can manage most activities related to social life. Corresponding public profile will help with sharing desired personal information with other people.

Person can have a single profile managing multiple remote accounts. Instead of having separate profiles for accounts on multiple networks. Also private dashboard can host modules used to work with remote applications.

It will also make possible to have friendships between people using OpenProfile hosted on different domains. Because of open source approach to this technology, everyone can freely choose a host for the profile, or create one oneself.

People can also use it to build their public reputation by keeping digitally signed records of sharing and testimonials.
