To join us, follow these steps:
- Request to Join the Committee
You need to be logged in to we.riseup.net to be able to request to join! - Subscribe to the mailing list: translators@lists.riseup.net
Here you will receive announcements related to translations.
You can send an email to translators-subscribe@lists.riseup.net or you can log in at lists.riseup.net and request to be subscribed.
Translating the newsletter¶
Every few months the Riseup birds write a newsletter and send it to everyone that has a Riseup account. More people will be able to read it if is translated into multiple languages!
Once a year there is also a fundraiser with multiple newsletters over a few months.
With your help, this is the schedule we will try our best to respect for 2025!
- We will send the newsletter to be translated on the Available on date on the translators mailing list.
- We will will wait for translations until the Deadline date.
- The newsletter will be published the week noted at the Published on dates.

Other translations¶
The Riseup help pages answer a bunch of questions about Riseup’s services and help users configure their devices properly. Chances are you’ve read some of them already, as for many years they were available on riseup.net
In 2026 we will be working on testing and updating those pages. At the end of that work we will need your help to check and translate the pages into your language. We are still working on setting up a way for the translation to happen smoothly but it will also depend on the volume of tranlsators so if you’re interested in helping out let us know!

If you have questions about any aspect of the translation process or need help with something, don’t hesitate to ask them on the mailing list!
